How long does it take to get a Heloc from PNC? ›

PNC will provide your Loan Estimate three (3) business days after we receive your application.

You will also be asked to provide information about current debts and recurring monthly obligations. An appraisal will be ordered to determine your home's current market value.

PNC Bank HELOCs are best for borrowers with a strong home equity position looking to borrow with low interest rates. The ability to lock your rate and make installment payments or use a variable rate with more payment flexibility can be a significant value.

However, the average time from application to approval for a HELOC is around 2 to 6 weeks. Underwriting is generally the part of the process that takes the longest, which can be anywhere from a week to 30 days or longer.

Applying for a HELOC may be done in a day, but approval can take longer. The most significant influences on how long it takes to get a HELOC are the lender you're working with, the underwriting process, and whether an in-person appraisal is needed.

To calculate the monthly payment on a $50,000 HELOC, you need to know the interest rate and the loan term length. For example, if the interest rate is 9% and the loan term is 30 years, the monthly payment would be approximately $402.

Current economic climate. Though HELOCs allow for low, interest-only payments during the draw period, that's not always a good thing, especially if you withdraw large amounts of cash. In this case, you could find yourself facing a significant jump in payments once you enter the repayment period.

Are HELOCs easy to qualify for? HELOCs can be easy to qualify for when you have good or excellent credit (620 or above) along with 15% to 20% equity. It's also recommended to have a DTI ratio no higher than 43%.

After you apply, you'll get a decision within a few days. If approved, you can go to a branch to sign your loan documents and immediately receive your funds. Allow additional time if you choose to request your loan documents by mail.

HELOC Account Access

If you requested funds to be drawn down immediately, they will be deposited directly into your Checking or Savings account four business days after your closing.

Once you close your loan, federal regulations require that we wait three business days after closing before we provide the loan or line of credit proceeds are available to you. During those three days, you have the right to cancel the transaction.
